Hikers are served and spoilt with typical Pinzgau fare at around 120 Alpine farms in the region. Numerous events including themed walks and festivals turn the summer on the Alpine farms in the Hohe Tauern National Park into an unforgettable experience of country life in Austria. Hundreds of excellently signposted hiking trails in 13 National Park valleys guide you through the beautiful Alpine region to the best Alpine farms, where the hosts will welcome you with excellent food and drink.
With limitless routes and uphill Alpine paths, the mountains of the Hohe Tauern National Park invite all of those who enjoy the great outdoors to embark on a tour of discovery. The beautiful 270 kilometre long, border-crossing tour starts in the district of Krimml. It then leads downstream along the river Salzach, passing Kaprun, Schwarzach, Bischofshofen and Golling and on to Salzburg. The return tour takes you upstream along the Saalach, via the Bavarian town of Bad Reichenhall, to Lofer and Saalfelden and finally to Zell am See. An extended biking trip in a fantastic natural setting – with several sights and natural attractions along the route.
